I think I added too much water

I added a little water to my chicken, the sauce isn't staying on it. But they smell so good, I will just pour it on before I eat it. I may even use it on some rice tomorrows supper. But the next time I try this i wont add as much water.

That happens sometimes, when you make up your own recipes. You know next time how much to add.

It does, but it still tasted alright, and I put it on rice and was so good.

I've done the same thing before, makes the stuff just slide right off. I wonder if adding a bit of a low burning oil like olive oil would help the other ingredients for the marinade stay on?
