Do you expect people to comment on your status updates?

I think it is natural for us to expect it but yet we shouldn't really. Not every status update or photo gets comments, and we need to accept that. Sometimes people are busy, don't know what to say, or don't have the time to comment and talk to us. I guess it is one of the negative sides of social networking.

You are right. We all expect our friends to comment on our status updates and get disappointments if nöne of our friends placed their comments in our updates. Mostly my friends always place their comments in my updates.

Nope I never expect people too. It surprises me when people do say something about what I say or how I feel or what ever I post or even a picture. But most of the people I see every day in person so they know what is going on.

I rarely post stuff on my Facebook, and even if I did it is not a requisite for my friends to like it or comment on it. It is an interaction, not some arrangement that one should say this or one should like that. I mainly use my account to keep in touch with my family and friends since I am living abroad and it is way cheaper than regular calls and texts.

Well, sometimes I expect my friends to comment on what I post. But sometimes I just post anything on my mind and I don't care if someone will leave a comment or not. I just want to express my thoughts.

I just post pictures on facebook and tag my mother and mother-in-law for them to see the pictures of their grand child. They always leave a nice comment.

i understand what you are saying, but it does make facebook kind of a waste of time (except for keeping up with family and friends).
