In Kenya they take in homeless children to a charity

On television yesterday I saw a program called Unreported World. I liked seeing the wonderful man in charge of the charity saving the homeless children. All of these are boys and I wonder why there are no girls. In order to get one of the homeless children the man must fill out paperwork and get it stamped by the officials.
Why do you think Kenya has so many homeless children?
Why do you think they have boys but no girls?
How can street children all be saved?

I think it could be a boys only school, so girls go to another place just for girls and that would be run by nuns or other charitable ladies. If girls were let in that home, that man would have to have a wife or female relatives so people would not think bad about him. Also he has to see what boys can survive and what boys can probably get jobs later on. I do not think all street children can be saved, because some of them might die of diseases and getting run over, and some may be too independent that they do not want to live in a home.
