How should I prepare for a professional entrance exam?

April 22, 2013 1:55am CST
Hi All, It is kind of a request to all of you to help me out in this odd situation. I have to appear in professional kind of exam and its just after 20 days. Its been a long time that I have been away from books, reading and studies. Yesterday, once I picked up the book to start my preparations, I could hardly read a single paragraph. Mainly I could not focus on what I was studying and I could not make up my mind to grasp things out of the book. Kindly suggest me that how should I start studying and how can a focus so that I can really grasp what is required out of my books.

In reading a book and understand the contain of the book well, you have to be focus on the contain. First , read the chapter of the book. Read all the chapters and make sure that you understand the chapter. After that you read the chapter one and get the point or the most important thing of the chapter. Make a short summary of the chapter. You can repeat the way to the next chapter until it finish until the last chapter. That's the way I can suggest for you

Go to bed early in order to wake up early in the morning.Read them in that time it will definitely help you focus on what you read.Remember it's all about keeping your mind fresh before you go for it.

Hi Pekibird! ;) My suggestion is to study whenever you're ready. If you force yourself, you'll find more excuses and laziness than being productive. Try some aiding tools: soothing music, bright lights, quite environment, lying down, standing up, study in the morning or nighttime. Find that something that would help you direct your attention to studying so you can be more focused. What I also did last time I took a professional exam is to a buy a reviewing book about that examination. In that way, I know how the exam (more probably, close to reality) looks like, the kind of questions asked and the answers, too. I try to practice a month before or two days before the examination. Most importantly, don't stay up late the night before the examination. It would give you headaches or memory gap instead. Good luck Pekibird! Hope you pass ;)

Joizee your suggestions are quiet appealing and I am sure that I may now be able to study well.

Thanks for appreciating Pekibird! ;) You might also consider having a happy disposition before you enter the examination area so you wouldn't have much stress anymore. Good luck! ;)

you mentioned your out of focus, it will be hard for you to prepare and study without focus. You should exercise mind setting since you won't be able to start anything if you yourself is lack of interest of doing so. Try to think of aiming to pass to encourage you to start reading and stay out of doing things that will keep you away from focus.
