As of this writing, there is a aspiring politician who is hogging the microphone a few houses down my block because they are having a miting de avance. I don’t have any gripe with politicians doing their campaigns. However there are 2 things that really make me tick 1. It’s the most certain assumption of these people that they will the election. Already they are calling themselves by their ‘future’ titles. It’s good that someone aspires to be something in this life and perhaps serve the people but please, be decent enough not assume the title when isn’t yet clear if they will win it. Bit of arrogance on that one. 2. Any issue is free! Name it, education, health services and even services that are offered by the local government is free. of course, be people might believe it that this is true. But then again perhaps, that will only be ‘free’ to some people and the actual costs will be shouldered by another section of the population. So, maybe it isn’t technically free and hardly fair. But for those having it free, it’s a good thing, isn’t? I guess that is for now, With a few days into the local elections, I think candidates will be more intense in their campaigns. However, I don’t expect to be accounted for when they do get elected or even deliver on their promises.
