The most Unexpected Anime couple ever

I remember how many anime fans got shocked when Bulma broke up with Yamucha and end up with Vegeta, who tried to kill her when he is still evil. As n their pairing is forced and random with no explanation. Now Bulma and Vegeta's son Trunks is following their footsteps in unexpected anime pairings.
If you watched the first season of Dragonball(when Goku is a kid) One of Goku's villain is Mai, she is Mr, Pilaf's sidekick, she and her gang always fail in funny ways againts Goku. The Pilaf Trio is like Pokemon's Team Rocket.
Anyway in the latest Dragon Ball Z movie which is considered cannon, Mr.Pilaf wished to the Dragonballs to make him and his minions young again. But the Dragonballs make them too young, they were turned into kids. Trunks saw Mai who is turned into a 12 year old girl and he claimed to Goten that she is his girlfriend. Well by the end of the movie, Their romance sort of became official.
Trunks is 12, Mai is older than Goku and Bulma and she turned into a 12 year old girl because of Dragonball's magic.

Many fanboys and fangirls were devastated because They want Trunks to end up wth Pan or Marron while others ship this newly formed anime couple and hope there will be progress when they grow up.(grow up again in case of Mai)

Like father like son? Hooking up with the enemy has its kinks?
-sigh- Hunk... I mean trunks was one of my very first anime crushes. I'm disappointed he ended up with that girl. I'm not sure what she is like but I don't think I will like her. Pan is too much of a tsundere I think and maroon... not pretty enough, if only she were as pretty as her mom, maybe I'd consider it. They should have looked for another girl to pair trunks with. 
Oddly, I find the vegeta and bulma pairing pleasantly surprising. I mean, I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING! Plus, they made trunks so I am very happy.

does this make Mai a cougar? Imagine she is older than Goku and Bulma and now she is the girlfriend of a 12 year old boy. Its so creepy but I notice people are now shipping them to the core and loves the pairing. Mai seem to fell in love to Trunks cos its her first time to be treated nicely, Mr.Pilaf is kinda abusive to her.
At least Trunks have better taste than his Uncle:

When they asked Tarble what is that creature beside him, is it his pet, then everyone where shocked when he said its his wife, Only a person with severe case of Psychosis will make a hentai fan art between those two. I dont know Toriyama is smoking when he designed Tarble's wife.

Dang, that's totally unromantic! Couldn't they have come up with a better story and pair? -sigh- A handsome guy like trunks ending up with a cougar, it's so depressing for me whose been in love with him for years. At least kririn had waaaay better taste in women despite him not being handsome.
I think Mai is just confused. I'm creeped out now...
Oi, tarble is like a mini vegeta. I didn't know vegeta had a brother.

On the ending of the movie, they were together on a tree. does this make Mai a pedo? yeah she turned into a 12 year old but inside her body is a woman on her 40's. i remember in GT she is a grandma.

GT doesn't exist for me.
I guess it depends on whether her mind regressed or not as she was turned into 12 year old.

speaking of GT, Akira Toriyama is considering to retcon it in anime cannon (its not part of manga cannon anyway)
It seemed like the Trunks X Mai pairing is starting to have Fanarts. Trunks is following his Mother's footsteps, marrying Goku's villains.
Who knows, Bulla might hookup with Mr.Pilaf
