How old were you when you learned to crochet or knit? / myLot

I'm just curious :) I personally was 17 when I learned to knit, then I learned to crochet. Also, what was the first thing you made?

I think I was under 10 and I made a scarf. Doesn't everyone start with a scarf?

I was around 8. My grandmother taught me. I started with granny squares and then joined them to form a dolls blanket.
