What is sin all about

I have looked around my life and the lives of other people and I have been amazed by the way different people live. I happened to work in a place where they have a different language from mine and through this I discovered that some of the words they use are regarded as offensive in my place yet to them they are morally acceptable. I thought God is universal. In another place what I regarded as food others count it as a bad stuff to put in to their mouths. What is sin then according to God? I feel like it ought to be defined well and universally.

Hello Nicholas, We were all born with sin, because of Adam and Eve. Jesus payed the price on the Cross so we can live. Repentance and excepting Jesus as your Lord and savior will have all of your sins forgiven. Please read the Bible it will inform, transform, and make things easier for you to understand. I hope this helps some. Peace and Blessings! _Taz

I don't agree. When you speak of the food thing, that is a different religion altogether. Different rules, different deity . You want to apply the rules of your God to all. Sorry, but things don't work that way and should not..
