Calling all computer programmers/IT guys: Best resources for getting into coding?

I'm looking to get into coding/programming mainly just for fun, but I'm not really sure where to start or what "language" is best to start with. Ideally I'd want to make some simple computer programs. I've heard of html, java, C++, C, etc but I'm not really sure what the benefits are of knowing each one or what they're really used for. What's the best language progression for coding? (i.e. learn x first, then maybe move onto y, then z after that etc" What are some of the best resources on the topic? (i.e. must own books, good websites etc) What programs do I need in order to code?

right, c is always the best choice for novices. But personally, i suggest u can try to learn Java if u really want to make out something.

I'm not a programmer....yet. But I suggest to learn C++ first. 'Cause it's the easiest to learn (for me). And the syntax of the coding in C++ is just the same to a lot of programming languages. It is like the very basic one.
