Poetry means a rhythmic flow of words in a certain way that creates a soothing effect in the mind of the readers as well as the listeners. Words are weaved in such a way that it sounds wonderful when heard. The emotions that are expressed through a poem cannot be expressed by any other way. People often take the help of poems to reduce their loneliness. Kids at their tender age are taught by parents in home and teachers at school to inculcate the habit of reading in a poetic way. The kinds of words in poems bring out certain meaning that deals with the feelings of a human being. For instance: a dialogue is said in such a way that forces the reader to think about the implications of the meaning. Often it has been seen that the complexity of the words or the sentences used in poems actually helps the reader a lot as he or she develops a taste for good literature. Reading poetry books brings lot of positivity inside a person and there are many other benefits that one can get. As far as the academic benefits are concerned, reading poetry books helps a student to develop critical thinking and also develops innovative ideas inside the brain. Reading a prose requires lot of concentration and helps an individual to focus on a particular thing. In this way, the reader brings stability inside the mind. As far as the intellectual benefits are concerned, poems use certain figures of speech and words that are known as metaphors, which are mainly used to draw conclusion for a subject which is not literary applicable. Metaphors are quite frequently used by high intellectuals. Therefore, by reading few metaphors a person can think intellectually. Moreover, the new words which one is exposed to after reading a poem help to improve the vocabulary to a large extent. Another interesting benefit is the emotional development of mind. A research done by few professors from the University of Liverpool found out that while reading a poem, the readers automatically connect it to their personal experiences that they had in life. It also served as a motivation and encouraged them to walk ahead in life. There are many poems that are inspirational and are written by authors who have faced some kind of setbacks in their life. The empathetic benefits cannot be ignored at all. In a poem, a poet discusses or writes about all his feelings that he felt during a particular incident. Readers can easily relate or understand the feelings of the poet when he or she wrote it. A research done in 2008, by few researchers at the University of Tokyo found out that while reading a poem, an individual actually steps in to the shoes of the poet to understand what he is trying to convey.

Dear P, I understanding what you are trying to communicate, really I do.However sometimes we just have to stop and look at "the rose" and see it for what it is worth. It is a part of our soul plus the things you said. Bottom line it's a poem, take it in and enjoy.
