Stick with one Product or Topic If you're about to start a website or already have one, this article can help you out. A nitch is basically a topic or item that you wish to promote. I have had a few websites in the past where I had placed many of different items for sale under one website. They weren't very successful for several reasons, but for now I'll stick with one. Let's use an example on me. I am looking to buy a radio controlled helicopter and when I get to a site, right away I'm seeing all type of items I am not interested at all and wind up finding maybe one helicopter. So now what I do is create websites that basically carries one niche(item promoting) and offer a large selection of those items. Example: I have an online cat product website, which only sells online cat products. When someone visits the site looking for a flea collar they will find a large assortment of them as well as other available cat products for sale. So my point is if you pick flea collars as a niche, there is nothing wrong with having related items, not cat flea collars and men's socks. Get my point? So say if you want to sell golf clubs you can also add accessories that are related with them. This will help you get a targeted audience when they search on the product they are looking for. Granted you can sell various types of items on one site and many people do quite well with the proper promotion, but I personally think that create several different types of websites is better. You will see that if you try this method you will get more targeted traffic to your site. What would be the sense of getting tons of people to visit your site if they would have no interest in your items. Some advertising companies will do that for you and not only is that a waste of money but a waste of time! It basically seems that the internet market is a matter of trial and error. But I feel if you try this method, you will be on the right track. Also if you're just starting out this will give you the opportunity to focus on one item at a time.
