You should first have something like a summary of a problem you thinks childrne can learn from. Then from there, write small draft of some of the points you want to express. figure out a theme and then from theere, write your story. Remember, don;t use big words, use words and write in a language that the children will understand. You have to think like a child if you want to write for a child. One last thing, before you send it out, get some feedback from children and see how they like it.

Not all that easy to get into that market, but there are some good books that help help guide you in your pursuits. You can find many at online bookstores if you do a topic search under writing children's books.
