I'm shocked/depressed

So I started a new job last year and I have been enjoying it greatly. I went to the doctor today and I have apparently gained about 32-33 pounds in the past year... While I can understand how/why (actually had money for normal groceries... ) not to mention I have always been a fairly large person mind you. But... 33 pounds already at my size...in a YEAR...wow. I am shocked and so depressed right now. I guess it makes sense I have been feeling more fatigue recently so it would make sense I guess. I just overlooked the factors and the cause I suppose. I just don't know what to do . I know how to be "healthy", but even from past experience I never really got like thin or anything. I will probably always be a big person to a certain level. I don't know I just needed to post this somewhere to get it off of my chest.

New beginnings perhaps? You have a new job so restart your health regime. Don't worry about the weight. Get healthy instead. The better you feel about yourself the more weight drops off. I get a bit concerned about all these diet companies - there is a huge meme focused on weight. I sometimes think it's more of a problem to get caught up in the meme. I began taking more notice of what I was eating. Initially it was for weight, but it turned into knowledge of the food industry - that will knock your socks off. If there is anything you need to be selfish about it's your health. I eat very well - really good food - which is fruit and vegies and nuts, good sauces and oils. Was a good feeling to change what was in my food cupboard and it transposed to my body, my liver, my stomach, my brain and my attitude.. Good luck.

I know what you mean. I have had a few relatives suggest I eat slower and never eat while watching TV/being on the computer. Trying that out. I also have been doing research to find out what the good foods are like you said. Such as "white" carbs. I never kenw about those until recently. And sadly I was always a big rice eater.

@luvandpower Personally I hate brown rice and prefer white, but am not a huge rice eater. White rice in moderation is fine when mixed with heaps of vegies - no problems. The world of good healthy food is a big one and is great to be involved in. You learn so much. Interestingly if you clean your liver - which is primarily done by eating fresh foods your depression also improves - A LOT. And it doesn't take long to feel the difference. Also when you eat good food and then have processed or packaged food - it tastes terrible. You notice how gluggy it is. Set yourself up with good oils and condiments - herbs and spices and enjoy the experience Don't worry about weight, focus on how you feel - you'll notice soon enough the differences.

@Tetchie I don't know how I did it but within a span of three days I have somehow lost a total of 15 pounds! Hopefully this keeps up. Told my parents and they couldn't believe it either haha. You are right I am not nearly as tired as I normally am either. I have learned though that I have to drinks lots and lots of liquids ( mostly unsweetened tea cause I can't stand water )
