A Company Cell Phone for Employees: Is it Necessary?

There are many reasons a business may need a cell phone plan for the entire company. For instance, not every employee always works "on site". If the boss or supervisor or even another employee need to contact each other on a regular basis throughout the day it is better for them to have a company phone. This way they can stay in constant contact if they need to. There are also many "on call" employees that may need to be contacted at odd hours. This makes it easy for employees to keep each other posted on jobs being done or jobs that need to be done. Sometimes companies get an entire company plan because there is a deal on bulk purchases, even on airtime. Some businesses have many offices all over the world that need to keep in contact. People travel for work all the time. Sometimes even small companies such as towing services would find a business phone plan beneficial because not everyone can afford to have a cell phone of their own. The list of jobs that could logically use a company plan to provide phones for their employees is long: towing services, car services, and cab companies are some examples of smaller employers that could find a company plan helpful. Company CEO, human resources, shift supervisors are a few higher up positions that would use a company phone so that people could contact them if needed. Cab companies need to keep constant contact between their dispatchers and drivers—this is usually done via CB radio, but could be done using cell phones if they so chose. Towing companies get calls for jobs, when their drivers are out on the road also, again usually keep in contact via CB radio, but could be done via cell phone. In these cases it would be smart to use a company plan. In cases of construction companies, there are usually several job sites that need to be watched over and it is important for clients to be able to keep in contact with the workers in case of last minute changes for a job being done.
