INTERNET-DEATH OF NEWSPAPER

The word internet is one of the most popular word heard from many people. It has become an essential part now-a-days. The modern generation is addicted to internet which acts as an ocean of knowledge. On the other hand the newspaper is quite cheaper than internet. The newspaper is easy to carry though it gives us stale news but the news we get is well elaborated. The newspaper is the only source of information for the old generation that is our grand parents as they have no interest or are not accustomed to this technology. The onset of internet into the world has brought the newspaper on the threshold of death. Children while surfing through the internet give cursory glance to some of the news headlines but if they go through the newspapers, they will come across those news headlines and much other related news which is not there in internet. For example:- when India won the World Cup the news just flashed on the internet that India wins the World Cup but if we compare the same news with the newspaper we find many stories, expert comments, etc associated with it. The news we get in the newspaper is always stale, the Monday’s news we get on Tuesday morning and Tuesday’s news on Wednesday morning and so on. But we get fresh news on the internet. For example: - when the Tsunami hit Japan we instantly got the news from the internet with all pictures and information but for the news paper we had to wait for the next morning which became boring. For younger generation, with less patience the news paper is difficult to handle, whereas one can just sit in front of the computer and surf the net. However, if there is no electricity or power back up then one cannot operate the computer and surf the net, but for reading a news paper one can even light a candle and read it. Both have their pros and cons. All said and done, I hope all will agree, that our morning tea becomes tasteless without the newspaper and the same pleasure cannot be derived by surfing the net. THANK YOU
