I've heard people say so much that Obama say's hes going to do something then either screws it up for does not follow through with it. I try to not to know to be honest. I don't watch him or try and learn about the things taking place in the government right now. I want to live a happy life and be able to wake up full of love for everything and everyone and people who pay attention to that crap are always fighting and arguing and being upset at everything going on.. I honestly believe in most cases ignorance is bliss...And sometimes I love it that way... So anyways, I read the article this morning about President Obama looking to grant Clemency for people who deserve it which happens to be hundreds of people. No surprise there, are prisons are WAY to full of small offender's when there needs to be room for the people who REALLY deserve to be there... One story it focused on was of a lady who had been in prison for twenty years, who's sitting on a 30 year sentence for sale of a methamphetamine which really was her husbands business. But they were saying there people in there for offenses like this with sentences like that because the laws were different back in the 80's and stuff. Way more drugs on the street and way more violence due to drugs back then so they raised sentencing to teach people a lesson. Could you imagine how bad it must have been back then if today is less of all this then back then. That's crazyness.lol I do myself think that granting clemency for small offenders is good,so we can free up some space in the prisons. I just hope he follows though with it. And in the end try's to get a bill passed so that we can stop sending the minor offender's in BUT also find other ways of punishing the minor offender's. If you are an offender you should pay for your crime in some way. I don't think you should just be pardoned for it, just not taking up the space we need for the real criminals. Do you know anyone who has committed a crime and was wrongfully punished with an outrageous sentence for the crime? I personally have not but I know of people who know people. and of course hear about it online or in the news all the time..
