A man hitting his wife

What do you guys think about a man that is a Christian resorting to hitting his wife because he feels that she has been disrespectful to him. He do not beat her on a regular basis but only at times in a heated arguments this has happened .What should that woman do? I have a friend and I would like to give her some advice.

Well the Bible do say that a man is suppose to love his wife like he love his own body. So what you are saying is that man that hit on his wife not all the time but it happens occasionally only in a heated moment does not love her?

I don't think anyone has the right to beat on or hit on someone else. Many people have been killed from a heated argument. Maybe he is not getting the self respect he wants because his actions ( hitting her) clearly show he doesn't deserve it . Maybe he needs to take the lead and set a better example as a man if wants respect. My advice is she doesn't have to tolerate such abuse and to remove herself from the relationship. It doesn't matter if he doesn't beat on her on a regular basis . Anger in this situation is a destructive force and once she starts understanding this type of destructive force ,then she will remove herself from it.
