Love at First Lick Lila Cormick is a twenty-five year old daydreamer who wants to find her true love. Her days are spent in the beach house she inherited from her Great Grandmother. In the early mornings when the sun just touches the horizon and the orange glow flows out onto the sea, Lila glimpses at all the people jogging by or holding hand in hand with the one they love. She sips her hot coffee that was freshly made, and rocks back and forth in the old white wicker chair. Lila longs for the day of sharing her mornings, afternoons, and evenings with a person she can adore for the rest of her life. The sun fully rises up, and that’s her queue to go start her day, but what happens next was unexpected. As Lila turns the silver door knob, her half sipped coffee cup in her other hand, she hears a deep voice shout, "Look out!" She quickly turns, and a bright red Frisbee is heading her way fast. Lila quickly jumps out the way spilling hot coffee on her sweater. She’s used to spilling coffee on herself, so she doesn’t notice. Lila picks up the Frisbee and walks down the rickety porch steps to step on the sand to see who shouted at her. She barely could see a man running toward her because he was so far away. But then she saw a huge slobbery tan Labrador running at her in full speed. She didn’t have time to react. The dog pummels her to the graining sand, knocking her coffee cup to the sand beside her, and licks her all over the face panting happily. She starts to laugh, and the man sprinting up to her apologizes. "I am so sorry. He gets really excited when we play outside." Lila continues to laugh, and without looking at him she replies, "It’s quite alright. I love animals." When the man was helping her up that was when she actually looked at him. Her heart flops a thousand times in just moments. His hair was shiny and wet from ocean. His dark tan and chiseled abs made her swoon. But when he looked into her eyes, a huge shock went through her spine. His deep caramel eyes melted her like laser beams. "I’m Stannous." He says as he continues to raise her up to her feet. He could not stop staring at her. Their eyes were locked. "I’m…I’m Lila."
