Religion and Life

It surprises me at how much discrimination there is in this world when it comes to things like religion and lifestyles. Never once, in the history of the written word, has there ever been any proof that any one religion is the "correct" and "true" religion, and yet every single one of the religions out there are trying so hard to prove they are the only right ones that they forget those who are just as good as they are, but believe differently. For example, there is no difference between a Catholic and a Christian (I'm talking Southern Baptist here since there are many different religions under the umbrella of 'Christianity'). The only significant difference is that Catholics pray in Latin and their church services are called 'Mass'. The teachings are the same, the belief system is the same, and yet if you were to go to a good 'ol fashioned Southern Baptist believer and ask them, Catholics are vastly different than Christians. (This has always been my experience with that branch of Christianity at least). And yet, none of the religions approve of a religion that has been PROVEN beyond a shadow of a doubt to be the FIRST religion, all because it died out long ago and then was revived recently. It is because of this revival that the other religions shut out and call this one religion "satanic", even going so far as killing believers of this religion with little to no proof that the person they are killing is even a follower. What is this religion? It's Wicca/Paganism. The oldest, and most diverse of religions, yet the most accepting of them all (there is literally nothing you can do that is against the rules within the Wicca/Pagan branch of religion, unless it's causing harm to someone else, everything is free game). I speak on this because everyone I know who is strong in their beliefs are up in arms about the Pope announcing that he believes that homosexual couples are blessed by God to be married to one another the same as heterosexual couples (at least in my corner of the world they are). But the Wiccan/Pagan community just shrug and say "So what? We've been like that for centuries" and go about their business. In fact, there are many Christians out there that are so discriminatory against other religions that they refuse to provide service to you if you aren't their religion. Christian and homosexual? Don't go to your pastor to officiate your wedding, you'll have to find a more tolerant minister to oversee your wedding vows as your pastor might try to counsel you to forget your love of one another and embrace "Gods' Love" instead so that you may "be healed from your sin and seek the love of a member of the opposite gender instead of your own". I don't know what's going on with people, and frankly I'm not finding myself having enough care to give anything to what other people have going on in their minds. I do know one thing though. I am Pagan, and proud of my religion. If you don't like that, well then I'm sorry for you. But I'm not going to hide my head in the sand, or hide my beliefs in the dark, and pray that you will eventually accept me. This is who I am. And since this is a calender new year, my resolution is to be a better me and maybe post more on here than I did last year ^_^
