As a grand cycling activity which is vigorously promoted by Beijing International Cycle Expo and Beijing Cycling Festival Organizing Committee in 2015, Ride & Gather, All Roads Lead to Beijing and Assisting Olympic Bidding is an important activity of Beijing International Cycle Expo 2015 and Cycling Festival and will be held annually. As China’s largest cycle expo and cycling festival based in Beijing jointly created by China Bicycle Association and HAOSI International, Beijing International Cycle Expo 2015 and the 4th Beijing Cycling Festival will be held in Beijing BaDaLing International Exhibition Center in June 26-28, 2015. Clubs partnering with Beijing International Cycle Expo and Beijing Cycling Festival Organizing Committee and cyclists pay close attention to the 6 routes of Ride & Gather, All Roads Lead to Beijing and Assisting Olympic Bidding. We uncovered the first 3 routes last week. Can’t wait to know route 4 to 6? No worries, here you go! Read the information below! Route 4-----Prairie Route The club in the city where the route begins: NM-BIKE ( Contact: Mr Zheng Contact: 18686175631 Comparing with other routes, the Prairie Route is relatively short but more meaningful. Cyclists start from Baotou, passing Hohhot, Ulanqab, Zhangjiakou, Huailai County and eventually get to Yanqing County. This ride will take 6 days approximately, covering 628 kilometers. The Prairie Route is not only an Olympic Games bidding route but also a route of Tour of Beijing. Cyclists start from Saihantala (in Mongol it means beautiful prairie, Jenghiz Khan prairie ecological garden) which is known as prairie in the city, enjoying the aroma of the soil, grass and flowers, bird singing, endless prairie, blue sky and white cloud, enjoying the splendid scenery described in the poem “under boundless sky, on the prairie, cows and sheep can be seen when the wind blows and grass lowers”. Cyclists ride freely all the way to Beijing on the vast prairie. Cyclists will share amazing food and sceneries with us such as one of the Top Three Chicken Dishes—Ulanqab League Zhuozishan County Smoked Chicken, the vast, magnificent, radiant and enchanting Huitengxile Prairie in Jining which is also called Yellow Flower Valley among the locals, the Number One Bell Tower in the west of Beijing—Qingyuan Tower, the Number One Drum Tower in the west of Beijing Zhenshuo Tower, the Number One Tomb and Tile Carving in the West of Beijing, Xuanhua Five-dragon Wall Brick Carving, Gongjilou, Nine-dragon Wall and so on. All the Number One art listed above and the Brick Carving are all in the ancient city Xuanhua which is also known as the Number One City in the west of Beijing. After Ulanqab, cyclists will get to Zhangjiakou, the city that is bidding for Olympic Games. With its sound ecological environment and distinctive tourism resources, Zhangjiakou wins advantages for Winter Olympic Games bidding. Zhangjiakou attaches great importance to the development of its ecology, making sound ecology its priority, vigorously implementing the ecological concept of city construction, successfully making itself national garden city, taking lead in developing itself into “national forest city” in Hebei Province, so cyclists want to take this opportunity to ride to Zhangjiakou and enjoy the splendid ecological environment there on behalf of the audience. Zhangjiakou took massive action to promote energy conservation and emission reduction, and now its comprehensive air quality is higher than that of the average of the province while “the most beautiful blue sky in north China” becomes its new name card. When riding in such a beautiful environment, cyclists must feel more relaxed and happier. We cultivate our affections of the prairie into gentle mood at the banks of Yanqing’s mother river Guihe River. The banks are beautiful and breath-taking and are famous routes for cycling and walking. How can we miss it? Route 5-----Central Plains Route Contact: Liu Xin Mobile Phone:15101570355 The Central Plains Route begins from Xinzheng Henan Province to Zhengzhou City, Xinxiang City, Anyang City, Handan City, Xingtai City, Gaoyi County, Shijiazhuang City, Dingzhou City, Baoding City, Zhuozhou City, Beijing Changping District and eventually to Yanqing County. This ride will take 9 days approximately, covering 826 kilometers. Looking at the map of China, you will find this route is the north part of Beijing to Guangzhou Railway which connects the north and the south. We define this route as Central Plains Route. In Chinese, Central Plains means “the open filed in the center of China”. Central Plains is also the origin of Chinese people and Chinese culture and the residence of the ancestors of Han People. For more than 3000 years, from the Xia Dynasty (2040 -1600 BC) to the Song and Jin dynasties (960-1279 AD), Central Plains was the political, economic and cultural center. More than 200 emperors established their capitals in Central Plains or moved capitals there, so there is a saying “those who conquer Central Plains conquer China”. Emperors in ancient times all fought for this territory, hoping to rule China. Cyclists who take part in Ride & Gather, All Roads Lead to Beijing will cycle in the Central Plains, exploring the history and visiting modern cities, and get together in Beijing. According to the historical records and archaeological evidence, there are 8 ancient cities in China that ruled this country for a long time, of which 4 are in Central Plains-- Luoyang, Kaifeng, Zhengzhou and Anyang while Central Plains Route covers 2, Zhengzhou and Anyang. From the south to the north, this route covers the birthplace of the Yellow Emperor (Xuanyuan), national historical and cultural city Zhengzhou, key national comprehensive transportation hub and the pearl of north Henan, Xinxiang. The 7 highways built on the cliffs (they are built on the cliffs between North China Plain and Shanxi Plateau, thoroughfares from North China Plain to Shanxi Plateau) in China meet here. Cyclists will ride along those 7 highways which are strategically located and difficult of access. Cyclists who pass the Ruins of Yin Dynasty (1600 -1046 BC) will learn the three important elements of Yin Dynasty (also known as Shang Dynasty 1600 -1046 BC) —“capital, characters and bronze ware”. Perhaps you have heard the Chinese idiom "imitate others and thus lose one’s own individuality” which originated form Handan but you may have never been there. Handan is also the origin of Chinese culture. About 8000 years ago, in the early stage of the New Stone Age, Cishan Culture was formed here. In the north of Handan, there are Zhao Nanxing Ancestral Hall and the platform where Liuxiu, the first emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220 AD), ascended the throne in Gaoyi County Shijiazhuang City, ancient city Zhengding, Zhuozhou Twin Tower, Zhuozhou Bell Tower and Drum Tower and Yongji Bridge, each of which is rich in culture and stories. Besides that, there is also tasty Shali Moon Cakes, so what are you waiting for? Hurry up and take part in this activity, riding to Beijing with other cyclists, enjoying cycling, culture and delicious food. Come on and join the cyclists to ride in the ancient city Pingyao and other modern cities, enjoying the feeling of traveling back to ancient times and then coming back within a short time. When approaching Beijing, cyclists will all have an intense sense history. Traces of the July 7 Incident of 1937 which is also known as Marco Polo Bridge Incident, a symbol of Japanese overall aggression against China, remain forever in the ancient city Wanping and the Marco Polo Bridge. After passing Wanping and Marco Polo Bridge, cyclists will get to Beijing.
