The United States Postal Service offers a wide variety of services to move letters and packages from one location to another. From standard to special delivery methods, the USPS offers many ways to handle the mail. Delivery Days The Post Office Department (changed to the USPS in 1971) used to deliver mail two times each day, and up to four times each day to businesses. The second residential delivery was discontinued in 1950, and multiple deliveries to businesses was phased out over the course of the next few decades.
