This Week's Letter from an Astronaut

Wedding, Mary/Brian
Portland, Oregon

My late husband and my best friend is a retired astronaut.. He writes he keeps meaning to slow down, will be 72 this August, but has not yet. Last month included consulting or speaking engagements in all four corners of the world. He mentioned he often thinks of Abalone fishing with Brian in the Pacific Ocean; I had never cooked it before but managed to serve our combined households some mighty tender deliciousness. We both retain very fond memories of those years above Malibu at Pt. Mugu. We held block parties once a month, everyone bringing their favorite dishes to share, the kids of all ages played games in the common green around our party areas. Most of all, I miss Brian. Image is of Brian and I on wedding night, Dec 7 1972. Great guys have great guys as best friends!

Memories are wonderful aren't they? As I have reached my 50's and 60's they all seem more precious to me. I even wrote some of my bio for Bubblews and such. Didn't want to forget so many times I have had. My grandkids might enjoy reading them later too.
