When You Were Little.........

When you were little, what did your Mom....or Dad, do to get you to sleep. Most kid's get bedtime stories ..... me, I got poetry....lol. James Whitcomb Reily poetry to be exact. 
I loved, and still enjoy reading his poems. My favorite was "Little Orphaned Annie" I'd make her tell me that about 2 or 3 times a week! ....lol.

When i was young my parents would stage their appearances. After saying good night, they would explain that they will be back in five minutes to give me another kiss or read a short story.They did the same again and again, each time staying away for a longer period.

I do not recall whether I needed that kind of help. Going by the fact that I sleep well perhaps I slept on my own even then.

I was simply told to go to bed. After laying there a while, I would drift off to sleep.

They did not do anything special for me to go to sleep. I just went to sleep and that is it.
