do you know gojek? gojek is a motorcycle driver who offer their service to pick up or drop off passenger and made some delivery goods or foods maybe it is similar with taxi but can do more than just driving the passenger. That is a good innovation for a big city like Jakarta which have a terrible traffic jam. Motorcycle have more effective time than car in driving someone or something. have you try the gojek service? and what is your opinion about it?

We have that here in our province which we call taxicle , driven by a motorcycle . If i have the chance i will take a picture of it and let's compare their appearance . It can have at least 8 passengers . It runs around the city like a loop and the fare is cheap.

I never heard of Gojek. Taxi is a restricted profession here, and we have only cars, but besides taxis, some people can be authorized to carry passengers, and there are a few motorcycles services available in large cities. Indeed, they are faster than cars, and are convenient if a passenger has no luggage.

The weakness of gojek is it can not bring too many things, can only bring one passenger, can only drive in short distance and you'll get when rain falls. Usually, people rely on gojek to go to school and offices. If we are going to airport, taxi is more convinient. Why taxi is a restricted profession there ?

We don't have one like that here.. I am sure it works out cheaper than travelling by taxi and your delivery happens faster. Great service I guess.

@ifa225 I am sure that is a real job opportunity for those unemployed but with a vehicle.. or does the company provide them .. that would be an even better deal.

There is also a contradiction in gojek, even many jobless people get help with this opportunity, many reguler ojek are loosing their customer

So I learned a new Indonesian term today! We have a vans that drive passengers too, pretty much like taxis. They usually operate in small towns and don't deliver goods or any other stuff.

they sound like a combination of taxi and courier delivery service. they'll either take you or your parcels wherever you need to get them or yourself too. Sounds a good idea if ordinary postal // transport services are not enough for your needs.

yes i know gojek... i used to ordered gojek all the time to go somewhere. in my opinion gojek is fantastic..lol, especially in a big city like jakarta where the traffic is crazy, also compared to a regular ojek the price is way cheaper.
