Did Your High School have a Capsule Buried to be Opened Sometime in the Future?

My School did and we decided it would be opened in 50 years from our Graduation. The things we put inside it were some money with dates on it, a couple of newspapers, pictures, some hit song titles, a few popular books and and some other items along with someone wanted to predict things to come. Then others can see how things have changed.

No, our school has nothing like this. Now I remember a weird movie about a buried capsule. I have to find out which movie it was, I believe with Nicholas Cage.

@Marcyaz I have found the movie, I was sure I had the DVD, the title is "Knowing" starring Nicolas Cage, it's an interesting movie.

Aw that is really neat Marcy! Has it ever been opened yet I wonder? I guess not. It is a nice memory and very unique for your high school to have done that. Mine did not do anything like that.

I doubt if I will be around when they open the capsule but it would be fun just knowing it was opened and yes it is a nice memory.

That's really interesting! Our school never do that. When is the time to open the capsule? I think it'll be so exciting for everyone of your class.

We did do that for a college class I had. I think it's great. I placed a We Are The World video in the capsule - I though it was a good example of people coming together for a good cause and with music too. It hasn't been 50 years yet - by the time they open it, the video will be moot.

Now that is so cool and as to the video being moot I think probably everything will be moot that is in the capsule. @suziecat7

No, my school never did that. What year was it that your school did this. How many years has it been already. I am curious.

No response from marcyaz as that would be giving away her age.

@Marcyaz Bummer. Whats the big deal? Would you still be alive when they dig this up and look? I like these buried treasure things.

A good idea ! This reminds me of the mysterious little girl Lucinda in the movie "knowing".

@Marcyaz Knowing is one of the greatest and most surprising films ! Nicholas Cage's performance is surprisingly good! I think this movie won't let you down!

Wow. This seems to be implementing the movie "Knowing" where in they had a similar thing. Unfortunately, here we did not have anything of these sorts when I was at school. Today's schools and colleges are more exciting.

I think I watched a movie about this... about numbers.. and buried in the time capsule.. opened 50 years ago ... but I forgot the title. Nahh we didn't have it, in fact this is just a new "concept" for me, when I watched it, then I thought it's a good idea.
