Technology Vs. Development

I live in India where majority of the population live below the poverty line. But a midst this poverty even in the most rural villages you can see how technology has seeped in. A family may not even have a proper roof over their head but they have a television set and a cell phone. No one in the family will have even a basic education but they will probably buy their sons the latest motor bike available in the market and their daughters the fanciest of clothing... One look at them and you'll think 'WOW! how developed they are.' but the truth is that in essence they have lost their identity. They have not really developed themselves to match the technology that they own. Inside they are the same uneducated people ( I don't mean to speak ill of them ) my point is that basically what they are doing is aping what they see on TV. But do they have the quality to match it? I highly doubt it... What do u think?

It doesn't matter how a person wants to live their life, I'm not against that... But I do believe a person should develop within the qualities to match the gadgets and technology that they hold in their hands or have access to...
