I don't mind the ads, but do they have to talk to me too?

Actually it isn't even the talking that has me aggravated tonight because I can just turn the sound off on my computer and that fixes that. The first time it happened though I nearly jumped out of my skin. I mean, here I am, alone in my house, contentedly typing up a response to someones discussion and all of a sudden this loud voice starts talking. Let me tell you, I almost cleared the bed. That would not have been funny at all from my standpoint. The problem came though after I tried to shut them up or just pause them so they wouldn't keep running. All of a sudden my computer page started jumping back to the top of the page no matter where I was or what I was doing. I finally figured out I could just keep typing even if I wasn't seeing what I was typing. The words were still going on the screen. Then of course I had to scroll down to the response block I was working on and try to edit it before it popped back up to the top of the screen. It was also making it hard to scroll down. So, It's been a difficult night to try to participate here. I think this will be my last post this evening. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

It is annoying when you're trying to listen to music in the background or it makes everything freeze up. I have the Flashblock addon for Firefox to stop this. But, sometimes I have to disable it because one of my video sites doesn't work even though it's been white listed and sometimes I forget to enable it again. Edit: Just found the browser button for Flashblock. Should make it easier to switch back and forth.

@savak03 I don't use either of those so I'm not sure. Just try white listing them first and see if they will still work.

Now, that's good information. I use Firefox, too, so that add on would work for me. I also watch TV on my computer from Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. Do you stream through any of those? Does the add on interfere with any of them?

Be careful that a talking cat does not get you. Cats love mice.

I've been walking among the cats on this site for years. I am well protected and have no fear.

I'm sorry, but from my point of view that is hilarious! I almost always keep my speakers off, unless I'm watching a video, so I don't have this problem!

So far it has not started talking to me yet. I always have my speakers lower and have it on high when I have use of it.

Wow, thanks for the warning. My laptop speakers are not working, but my new computer will have sound and now I know to mute the speakers before coming here.

@Carmelanirel2 I'm glad you got the warning before you heard the voices. That is scary if you're not expecting it.

That annoys the heck out of me, so I turn off my speakers.

I hate that when it happens because I usually wear headphones in full volume - but I have to admit, when you described what happened to you, I tried to stifle a laugh. LOL.
