Pope says to absolve Abortions?!

Wow! Pope Francis said priests can absolve women who had abortions! I think this is great for my Catholic cousins. I think of everyone as cousins. Us non Catholics are not effected but it is great. Your thoughts.

I think all religion is stupid. That's my opinion. Too many stupid rules. None of them are relevant to us living in this sick disgusting world. So, I say, live and let live. Lets just enjoy our lives without worrying about those religions.

the pope or any other man can not absolve, or forgive anyone of their sins.....Only Gods free gift of salvation can do that.. Why does anyone need the pope to say it...Because God said he would do it thousands of years ago... The veil was torn... A man can forgive another man for wrong doing anytime...but if you want forgiveness from God....their is only one way to get it......

I agree! I kind of feel like the pope feels like he has so much power. He is just a man like anyone else. I feel like some people worship him instead of the one true God.

By the Grace of G-d I'm not Catholic. All I can say is if this helps women cope with the aftermath so be it. I agree he is just a high priest. If you need G-d , you don't need a middle man.

For those who need the mediation of the Pope and the Priest this is good news. It would be horrible to feel eternally condemned when our hearts and souls have repented. It does not undo the deed, but may free someone to walk on forward with faith and forgiveness.

I don't think this is right at all. I mean, I understand people need forgiving, but I kind of feel like he's saying it's okay to do it. Will more people get this done now that they know this? I'm not sure. What do you think?

Abortion is a very personal thng No two women do it Exactly for the same reason. Where I can see this help is when a woman wanted the child but to safe her life an abortion is needed. Instead of living with the guilt, her priest can ease Some of the pain.
