Spain stands by Aragones

MADRID, Spain (Ticker) - The Spanish FA have rejected suggestions that national team coach Luis Aragones will be fired in December.
It was reported on Wednesday that Aragones, under pressure following a disappointing World Cup and a poor start to their Euro 2008 qualifiers, would be sacked next month and replaced by former Spain coach Jose Antonio Camacho.
But RFEF spokesman Jorge Carretero called the reports "hoaxes and groundless comments", and insisted they still had "total confidence" in Aragones.
"There is no basis to that information at all. We are happy with Luis Aragones, he is our national team coach and there is nothing to say," Carretero said. "Those are hoaxes, groundless comments
