Need Help For Frozen Shoulder

Philippines

Have you ever had or know anyone who had a frozen shoulder? What treatment helped the most? How long did it take? When I raise my right arm, straight up, it will stop at 11 o'clock, instead of 12 o'clock. I can sleep on my right side, I can carry a bucket of water, but it affects doing overhead tasks like hanging/taking down laundry and reaching for/returning stuff from overhead cabinets.

Oh this is painful, I had this problem last year. I had to see my physiotherapist to fix the problem. Do not make efforts and go to see your doctor.

@ladyduck do you know/remember exactly what caused your frozen shoulder, or was it a sudden onset?

@LadyDuck i know the incident that triggered mine. i had limited movement in my right arm for a week, i think. i didn't go to any doctor or have hilot (traditional massages) then it went away. it was 6 months later when i started noticing pain when i extend or stretch my arm fully.

@hereandthere Yes, I remember very well. While I was lifting a bag in the garden I feel a little pain in my shoulder. The day after I was unable to extend my arm completely, I could not reach the overhead cabinets. I confess that I waited at least 10 days before going to my doctor hoping that the problem auto-fixed. I finally had to go and the Doctor said I had injured a tendon, he wanted to perform surgery, I refused, so I went to the physiotherapist and now I can move my shoulder and arm again.

Why not get so physiotherapy done and it would help to stop putting too much pressure on your arm. May be some rest will do it good too.

I know I have arthritis, and it sounds like the same problem you have, could it be? I know there are days that are worst than others.

@butchcass4 yes we have a family history of arthritis, which reminds me, i notice i get stiff fingers sometimes, so more reason to see the doctor soon

Sorry to hear about your shoulder, that must feel very uncomfortable. Like the others have suggested, maybe getting a second opinion from another physiotherapist would help. Hope you'll get better soon!

@cahaya1983 when i need to reach for something above, behind, left or right, that's when i'm reminded that i can't stretch my right arm to the fullest and it would hurt.

I guess you need to exercise it some more? Or massage it first then move it around like a shoulder roll or something. I'm hoping it's just a circulation problem.
