How good are you at socializing?

I am okay.. not too much nor too bad either. This weekend there were quite a few invitations and functions to attend. I hate it when all I have to do is dress up and smile. I like some quite too. I usually hang around with a friend or two to hide my unease. My husband is more of a socailizer than me. What kind of a socializer are you?

I am pretty good in socializing, but I do not like mundane events. If there are a lot of people, I prefer to stay at home.

@LadyDuck same here I hate them when there are too many people. Glad that you are good when it comes to socializing. Some of these lunches are really boring. I hate it when people get tipsy and start acting silly.

@LadyDuck I have to attend these darn things at least twice a month, sometimes more. I find it hard to wear a smile and sit around even if I don"t feel like it.

i'd rather jest sit in the truck 'r not go 't all. the hubs is a social butterfly 'n thrives on the attention. fer myself, i prefer to be surrounded by critters, they don't care how bad a hair day yer havin' 'n don't ask ya dumb questions.

@crazyhorseladycx I guess you are right about them critters and bad hair days. I wish I lived on a farm far away from human dwellings at times

I don't mind being around people, but also I am very quite and shy, as I don't want to say the wrong thing that would make me look stupid.

@sofssu I do agree with that. If they are shy like me, then there might be a big probelem as we would just look and each other and stare.

@rosekiss I can manage some words but the rest depends on the response and warmth of the person.

@rosekiss I am shy too.. I can relate to how you feel. If there are a couple of easy going people around I am fine.

It depends on the situation and the people for me. When I am around easy going people, I can blend right in, and have a good time. If I am around a more serious bunch, I tend to be quiet and only socialize if spoken to. I have to be comfortable around people, if I am not, then I simply won't enjoy myself.

@sofssu Sounds like a real drag. I try not to let myself get into situations like that. However, I think it's different for you. You basically have no choice at times. I could always go over and liven things up for you.

@TexanTornado It would be wonderful to have you around, we can give those numb heads a run for their money.

@TexanTornado I completely agree with what you are saying and can relate to it fully. I can't stand being with nerds who cannot have any fun. I am stuck with those kinds sometimes.

I used to be a reluctant socialiser, preferring my own company. But now I'm not working I do seek out occasional friends for company. However, I'm good at doing things alone too.

Not a very good one, I'm afraid! Also, I've up to a lot of online socializing, as of lately, it seems to have taken a further toll of what I had of this virtue.

@gregario888 It true all our online socializing could have a negative impact on our off line life if we aren't too careful to draw the line.

@fufurinha Good to know there is someone here who is comfortable socializing. I love talking to people one on one.. the crowd isn't my kind of setting.
