Dream Influenced by Television

Have you ever fallen asleep with the TV on and had a dream that seems to be influenced by what is playing on the TV?
It's so weird when it happens to me, but it's kind of cool. Last night, I was watching a competition cooking show. I dreamed that it was me competing in the show and it's like I could hear the TV in my dream.
It's a bit hard to describe. Does this happen to you too?

I've been bitten real thorough by the net, the telly is nearly out of my life. But I can imagine it would be really eerie if you slept while watching a movie, and woke up to feeling something like that taking place in your life.

I have never gone to sleep with my tv on but yes my dreams could have a connection with what I would have viewed before hitting the pillow.

I don't watch enough tv so this could happen, but something similar happned to my friend while on skype...
We were playing Pen and Paper RPG using skype, and he suddenly feel asleep. We tried to wake him up but we couldn't and we also couldn't speak to loud because it was late at night. So we just keep it playing without him... Somethings happened in the game and he dreamed about the things we were talking and with what happened in the game. We kept talking for hours with him sleeping using his headphones...
