Does CCTV camera neccesary to be installed in homes and workplaces?

Over the last two years , people have awared of their security due to robbery , crime , cheats from own staff. They have installed cctv cameras and have succeeded in stopping or reducing crime in their area.
Now question is still robbery ,crimes are going on though less but the people who experience it ,may lose everthing they had.In such cases does cctv cameras would have helped them ?
I think yes .All entrance must be captured in cameras so that people will fear to go in and out without reason.

They do help, generally. However some criminals do know how to deactivate the CCTV. And there were also many cases where the premise in which the cameras were installed claimed that the cameras "were not working".

I don't think most of the criminals would have time to bother with the CCTV cameras. Unless they have a lot of time to carry out their criminal activity.

Your suggestion is commendable
. Wherever possible CCTV cameras should be installed to keep a tab on unscrupulous activities and to eliminate possibility of crime. These camera should be positioned at such a height and angle that it may not be easily visible to people passing through that area. However, I understand that cost of maintaining CCTVs is on the higher side so someone should try and research to bring its cost to a reasonable level.

The cameras come in handy when there is a theft, they can make a would-be thief apprehensive, to the wisdom of committing the act. Yes, they are useful without any doubt, to the monitoring of the social spaces.

They have installed one in our vicinity. Who comes and goes is what they can see but in a way they infringe on one's privacy

A hidden camera can be better under such cases because they won't be aware of them to disguise their faces.

I recommend the use of hidden cameras so that the suspects are not aware when they are captured on camera while performing a criminal act. That way, they won't be sure where there is a camera and where there isn't.
