I have one foot that swells, and one ankle that is swollen

I was told by my doctor to walk more, that is why my right foot and ankle are swelling, I walk every day , several times a day. Went back to the doctor, they tell me I am walking too much, you can see a difference in my foot and ankle. It is difficult putting on a shoe on this foot.. does anyone else have this issue? With just one foot swollen? I always worry, the doctor is missing something, it just doesn't seem right , and the doctor doesn't seem to be too concerned.
