When I had my surgery last year, I need 6 transfusions, I was a little worried about it, because when my uncle had one, he received bad blood, and ended up passing away after the surgery. The hospital assured me the blood was tested 3x's, not to worry, is this something you think about? Do you have blood banked at a hospital in case you should need it?

I have never had one, nor have I thought about it really. It sure would be quite worrying however, as one never knows I suppose what blood one might get. I am sorry to hear what happened and for the loss of your Uncle. Good you are still here and glad you got good surgery.

I think at one time, it was a concern about bad blood, now they do not seem to worry so much, but it does make you worry.

So sorry about your uncle misfortune with the blood. I had 17 blood transfusions and that was 2 years ago. After, the hospital sent me all the bag's numbers, in case something goes wrong they would know exactly where the blood came from. The blood services do a much better job than they used to.
