The economy's tough...even for Elvis

A few years ago, my husband and I took a trip to Las Vegas for a convention. We did the typical tourist stuff: watched the water fountain extravaganza in front of Bellagio's, took in a couple of live shows, ate the most delicious croissants, stayed at Caesar's Palace, checked out the outdoor light show on Fremont Street (excellent, by the way.) Gas was at an all-time high. After the entertainment on Fremont Street, we were waiting for a bus to take us back to the Strip. I nudged my husband, "Look! Quick! There's Elvis getting on that bus!" Sure enough, we watched the King ride off in a rear seat by the window. Wow. Gas was so high, even Elvis had to take public transportation.

It must be a great fun image to see. As Elvis got off did the driver announce Elvis has now left the bus?

We weren't able to get on the same bus but your comment is hilarious!

Funny, whenever democrats are running the show (because of course Obama was president then), we have to talk about high gas prices. It is what it is, history often presents tells, many of which we don't pay attention to. As for the King, I heard he finally got a car when Trump became president but he had to sell it and went back to the bus rides once Joe got in there and wrecked it all. lol
