I think PCH is a scam

I see these commercials for Publisher's Clearing House and I wonder. This wonderment gets worse every year. About five years ago I used to always sign up for the contest. But, then I started thinking about it. How can a mere clearing house dole out millions of dollars to several people annually? It's like a sendicate. Or money laundering scheme or something. Are these people on the commercials paid actors? Do all these people really get the money?

A lot of people actually buy their merchandise and they get a lot of the profits. Some people still thing you have to buy something to enter which is not true. Since the prize is such a high amount and there are many people entering it's like the lottery, many will enter and only a select number will win.

@celticeagle Wow! I read the chance in you winning it's like 1 in 7.2 million or billion (don't recall at the moment). Yup, that's why no one ever wins that you know. It's like finding a needle in a haystack.

Yes, that is the basics of the sweepstakes but, I still don't see how they can put out such a large amount to so many. Doesn't seem feasible to me.

I've no idea what that is. Too many scams these days, it's hard for me to trust anything unless I read reviews from reliable sources.

@celticeagle Well the business itself seems legit since it's accredited by the BBB. Wiki says their revenue mainly comes from merchandise - books, jewelry, media, etc. They did warn of a scam though, by people who claim to be from PCH.
