Forgive and Be Forgiven

Do you or anyone you know harbor unforgiveness in their hearts? If so how does it make you feel? Is there peace and joy in your life? The message here is simple, and clean cut. According to Gods word, if we choose not to show mercy to others the same way God shows mercy to us there will be consequences. He says that we will be handed over to the tormenter. This means that we will be continually tortured by our thoughts, and imprisoned in our bitterness, anger and resentment. Our relationship will be poisoned with God, and the one we hold a grudge against. Friends, family and loved ones will avoid us like a plague. Our sleep will be affected by the tossing and turning, running the wrong done to us through our minds, and having fitful dreams. We will also reap health issues that arise from unforgiveness even affecting our physical being with stiff muscles, a sour stomach, our faces lined with bitterness and more.... Why live like this? Ask God to help you to forgive and choose to forgive those who have done us wrong. Yes I know it may be hard at times, but every time that incident arises, say to yourself “I have forgiven so and so.” And eventually you will believe it, and be able to live a free life. it is hard that we have grudges in your heart. I do not want to carry burden so I try to forgive those people who had done bad deeds.

@cgalavia we are to cast our burdens on Jesus for He cares for you. He can help us to forgive the wrongs done to us, if you know Him. If you don't I invite you now listen to what John 3:16 says; For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. It's that simple yet so profound.

I am so glad you have a relationship with Jesus Christ because that's where it's at. That's all that matters in this life when it's all said and done do we truly know Him and does He know us? On that final day He will either say to you; "Enter In or depart from Me I never knew you. Which will it be?

Yes forgiveness is a choice and many times we need God's help to do it. He has helped me with the forgiveness process. Sometimes it takes time to work through it.

I married at 17 was divorced at 19 My first marriage only lasted a few years.. but i carried the scars of it with me for over 30 years... Every time i saw him the fear and hate would not go away...and even though i never thought that it affected me it did...I was in my 50's when i finally forgave him for what he did to me, The hate and fear left me almost instantly...The difference in my life was amazing.... I still see the physical scars. but the mental scars are all gone.....and the fear of running into him on the street is gone.... God gets all the Glory, and when i accepted him into my life everything seems to just fall into place now....forgiveness is a very powerful thing...not only forgiving someone else, but learning to forgive yourself, and knowing truly knowing that God has forgiven you for all the wrongs that you have done...I have never been more at peace than i am right now.....My only regret is that i took so long to find Jesus Christ

O I am so blessed to ready your testimony. God bless you for sharing. Our lives sound very similar and I couldn't agree with you more that I wished I had truly given my life over to Jesus Christ a whole lot sooner it would have saved me a lot of pain and suffering. To God be the glory great things He has done.

I lately have a shouting match with our youngest sister for being so disrespectful of me as her older sister . She was pointing her finger on me while shouting for trying to make me understand what she is trying to say . I am still angry until now , though i keep praying for God to take away my anger so i can forgive her already , even if she didn't apologize to me yet .

I don't bear grudges for long. My son has done some terrible things to myself and my family but he is very lucky that we are a forgiving bunch because many others would have given up on him.

yes I knew someone who has a hard time forgiving the person,She said to me personally and I don't think if she's happy enough. If god is so forgiving why can't I,I always forgive those persons who have done wrong to me. I simply don't mind them and forget what they did.I need to move on,so ignoring is the best way.

If you don't know Jesus as your Savior you won't be able to forgive for forgiveness is divinely done. He enables us to forgive as we have been forgiven our sins we then can forgive those who have wounded us. John 3:16 says For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes would not perish but have eternal life. The first step is to believe in Jesus Christ. God will takes us from there and help us in this hard life.
