This Autumn Season

I live in the deep south now and I miss living in the north at this time of year. I always liked watching the leaves turn their various colors from lemon yellow, apple red, orange-red and even the ones that stayed green like the willows. I liked watching the squirrels gathering their nuts for the winter. I also liked walking down the roads watching the farmers harvest their fields. Walking through an old orchard or even walking through a pumpkin patch. Autumn was also the time of Halloween and all the decorations that people put out in their yards from fake tombstones, to haunted trees and some people even hung straw scarecrows from trees. There were also the usual ghosts, witches and monsters floating around. The wind howling during trick or treat and all the tricks like corning and soaping windows. Then came November first and cleaning up Halloween and preparing for Thanksgiving and raking the leaves and sitting in front of the fireplace. One day I hope to return north and experience these times again.
