Just finished reading another great post by our good friend, ( @jaboUK ) . It spoke to the close call of her husband while he was being worked on in the hospital operating room There is no way by which to best that tale, but those who know me understand that I have a difficult time being serious about anything. Especially medical operations. In an operation to mend something within a person's belly, the operating room staff generally places a cloth screen across the person's chest, shielding the belly from being coughed on or sneezed on by the patient. You just never know when an anesthetized patient is going to snort on a wide-open belly. The shield is a sterile towel suspended on a metal frame. It being there as a shield gives the operating doctor just that much more confidence that the surgery area is going to stay relatively germ free. There I was, the good doctor just about finished sewing my belly back together after fixing my innards to his satisfaction. I was evidently not all that heavily sedated. Although I was still out like a light, I began to feel a wee bit of belly tickling. Stitch-one, stitch-two, tickle-one, tickle-two. So I sat up, looked over the top of that screen and asked, "What's going on there?" Doc yelled out to the guy with the gas, "Zap him." He did. I think that I woke up two days later. (More about that in the next post - probably tomorrow. There's a football game right now that needs my immediate attention.) Image source - MorgueFile - Photo by Wax115

Howdy @pgn - I don't know what they were thinking at that moment. My eyes were not really able to focus on anyone down there toward my southern regions - and then the gas man really zapped me good.

@Ceerios It must be a real gas to be an anaesthetist.
