Why are you here?

Thinking of a good topic to write about is sometimes difficult, often I find myself struggling. Is it the lack of motivation, because there is nothing to say or is there some other reason? So I am going to make a topic about nothing in general and yet everything at the same time, where do you pull your motivation from and how can you become more creative with what to write? Often I see topics about music, what someone did today and some other randomly useless information. I think sites online need to have good quality info in order to really gain anything from it. It is always "I made some money today, did you get paid? Or how long did it take to get you paid from this or that website." The way I see things is that these specific types of sites like MyLot and Bubblews and a whole bunch of other places are now just for socialization. Sure people use these sites for money, but really how long are you actually sitting here thinking of something to write and what do you gain from it but a few cents, followers that do not follow the rules and useless conversational topics much like this one? I guess I want to know, what is the point.Do you really make a whole lot from here or is it something to pass the time? Lately for me its a passing the time type of thing because I'm sort of on vacation at least until this coming Friday the second. Once home I will regain a normal schedule of babysitting, work and more.

I think one of the reasons why people like this site is because it's pretty laid-back in terms of post requirements compared to other writing sites. So I guess that's why some people don't really care much in terms of quality. I personally prefer posts that have substance but then again, I consider this a social platform more than anything so I don't expect too much when it comes to quality. I'm here because I like the interaction, and I love sharing my thoughts but of course, the extra cash is a nice bonus.

@nafretiti I don't think they do that to old members. I've seen people's profiles showing they've been here for many years, before the site stopped paying. Some returned with new accounts, like you. I just started over a month ago. So far I'm enjoying this place a lot!

@cahaya1983 maybe I'll ask them to do it, as I have an old one that is useless and I don't need it, I just remembered what my login info was for it.

Thank you for answering my question honestly, I think the laid back type of atmosphere is also why I sort of like it. I used to have an account here back in the day but couldn't remember it so lol. Maybe if I get lucky I might be able to but I doubt it and will just with this one. If they purge out old members that is fine by me, I don't have a problem starting fresh.

My reason for being here is to learn from others, while earning. I am here also for the interaction, as that is what we are required to do to get paid. The interaction is just so much fun, and I really wouldn't want to be anywehre else. I have met some very nice people and have been helped when I needed it.

Awesome so you are here basically for conversation, and the earning potential is a bonus if I understand correctly? What sort of things are you wanting to learn here, what do you expect out of it?

@nafretiti Well, I am here to have fun for one thing, and that I do by interacting with others. When I say I have learned from others, I have learned about their cultures which would be different than mine of course, and if I have any questions, they do get answered.

@rosekiss I have seen some people ,but haven't really wanted to learn about their cultures, Sometimes but not often. I know a little bit more about the Indian woman and why she wears the dot on her forehead, its pretty cool knowing what it means.

I don't think any of us make a lot of money from ANY particular site we work on. But, the trick is to spend time on several paying sites. That way at the beginning(or whenever payment is made each month) the $$s add up nicely in your account. Hoping to make big bucks on any one site alone is just down right silly.

@nafretiti .....I think we all do. I just try to do something everyday. Setting small goals is very important for me.

Totally glad you have said that! It does add up and that is also why I do a few different websites as well. I can make more at one thing I do if i kept doing it but I get lazy sometimes.

Some posts are, of course, of more interest and higher value, with more thought behind them, but I don't mind the other lighter day to day posts. Some of us don't have close friends where we live, and we start to care for those around us, and want to know how others are doing

very good point, I live with my best friend in real. Have known her since I was nine, but when I lived in South Carolina I had no friends there, it was hard and depressing.

One thing you do NOT talk about on places like this is Politics and Religion, that is a very good way to get into a heated debate. I honestly don't care what anyone's political view or religion is, but if you bring it up and I'm not fond of it .It could get nasty and a lot feel that way I think.

I don't think most people write for the money, rather for the joy of sharing and interacting with others

I don't know, honestly would you write here if no money was involved?

@nafretiti Honestly no but it is not the only reason I write. What I meant is that there is really no money to be had writing at these sites except spare change so I have to assume that most of us don't expend all this time and energy for the money, there has to be more. The fact that we get some spare change is an incentive. Many people including myself, already have other sources of income so we are not here solely for the money. However I do appreciate the fact that there are people who do need the money but it is not the best way to earn money.

I don't consider this a writing site, but simply a social site where the payment is the icing on the cake. I do my writing elsewhere, mainly offline.

I find it more of a social site than anything, but I think a lot of people are here for the money and are fooling themselves if they say otherwise. But I'm glad you seem to enjoy the social aspect.

Conversation is my favorite part I think, you learn a lot about someone's life and other factors on things. Maybe you learn of something you didn't know before. It can be fairly interesting :)
