What is your fitness mantra?

The importance of exercise in today's life cannot be over-emphasized, what with obesity diabetes, hypertension and other diseases being on the rise. Being a diabetic, I have tried yoga, aerobics, weights, gymming, spot jogging, and walking alternately and sporadically. I find it difficult to sustain any program for a long period of time, and if there is a break due to some reason or the other, it becomes so much more difficult to get back into the routine. Recently, I sustained an injury to my knee, and was advised complete rest for 2 months. So, now, I am slowly limping back (literally!) to a routine of walking. Do you have any tips to make exercise more attractive?

You could make a group of 4-5 people...i find exercising with my friends a lot more easy and destressing..... Also there are a few apps available which guide you on your schedule based on your height, weight and other statistics.

You are right. It is easier to exercise in a group.

Left to myself I too would rather not exercise, but now it is more of a necessity for health reasons!

Although I don't consider myself a fitness-fanatic or a physically over-active person, I do morning walk everyday and generally try to avoid junk food from roadside eateries. I think this is sufficient to have a healthy life till I reach 70!

That is good! In fact it should serve you well even after 70, because at that age, walking is the only exercise recommended!

@Shyamalaa -- I would suggest you to start morning walks, My mother has some health issues and she is going for a morning walk from last 2-3 years -- it really helps to manage weight and is also good for diabetic patients. Take care :)
