Want to start a fur flying fight? Ask someone if they think a Siamese is smarter than a striped tabby cat. Start another loud debate by telling- do not suggest- tell the other person that their dog should not have a docked tail. Be sure to them that your honor student is more intelligent than their parakeet. Its no fun being bored, right?

All cats are smart as far as I am concerned or they would not be alive.

All kinds of smarts in each cat, too. Our semi wild one bagged a gopher the other day.

I've never been so bored that I wanted to talk about a parakeet.

Love it. There are some smart parakeets. My Mom had one that imitated Mom's whistle. The parakeet would whistle, our dog would run over and look around to see what was up and it was only the bird.

@MALUSE you think that is bad when we came back from germany to the states. we could not bring our bird back for some reason. So my mom put the bird in her purse and left an opening. The bird kept on talking and my dad just pointed to my mother. the bird would say hello a thousand times. Everyone kept looking at my Mom for saying hello. She was really embrassed.

@sallypup I once visited friends who had a hill myna who imitated the ringing of a telephone and the flushing of a toilet absolutely perfectly. I must say that it was difficult to have a serious conversation with the bird in the same room.
