legal or not?

Less than a month from now it will be legal for drivers to have snow tires on their vehicles. Our roads could be coated with ice and snow. The autumn freezing fogs could start up. (No I am not tickled pink or purple over this.) I choose to have studded tires put on my little two door car. I realize that studded tires chomp on the road surfaces. I also hope to stay out of those deep ditches. Anyone else have legal automobile laws to consider as the seasons change?

I think studded tires are illegal in many places.

I've heard that and I've wondered about using them then I start driving on a freezing freaky morning road and I just go with it.

@sallypup Thank God I don't live where I would need anything like that.

We're 10 miles out of town. Either we drive or walk since I can't bike. Slippery times make me think of getting whatever help I can grab.

I'm not really sure what the laws are here, regarding studded tires, since I've never used them. But the slat and chemicals they use on the roads destroys them way quicker than any number of studded tires or chains would.
