Scrimping, Until The Next Salary

Okay, since my big risk didn't pay off big time I am now scrimping until the next pay day. And when that day comes I will take a risk with a different group. I feel like I should get the hang of this pretty soon as this is all new to me. I'm still learning. I feel like I've crashed and burned already and learned a lot in the past 2 weeks. I scrimp by walking to the nearest bus station going home so I will save fare. It saves me 2 pesos just doing that alone. Next thing is not to pay for two (me and the empty seat) when riding the tricycle from their station. Instead I walk where the "free" tricycles zoom around, a few meters away from the station, so I only need to pay for myself. That saves me 9 pesos. When it comes to food during week days, I eat sandwiches. I either buy loaves of bread and some cheese/liver spread and bring them to work or I buy hotdog sandwiches for lunch. The sandwich from home saves me 30 to 50 pesos. The hotdog sandwich can save me 20. Isn't that something eh? Who else scrimps until they get their next salary, allowance, pension and the like? What do you do to get through until you are "saved"?

I know how you feel.It seems something always needs to be repaired or that I need to see doctor. I'm always trying to save money these days. It sounds like you're really good at it!

Not too good at it yet but I have to because I won't last a day more if I don't. I'd hate to borrow money so I'd rather scrimp for now.

We haven't had to scrimp for many decades, but we do watch our spending and budget carefully.

Oh that's good to know then. All I can say is tough luck because of one bad decision I made. But I will get some funds back so I'm not worried too much anymore.

@pcunix Ouch. It's good you've finally gotten rid of that debt. Wouldn't want to experience something like that... That's hard.

@owstalaga Yeah, I put myself $100,000 in debt with one bonehead move. It took me more than ten years to dig myself out of that.

I can eat simply and I do walk a few bus stops just to save on bus fare, but I do not need to scrimp. I do it mainly for health reason. I think you are better off learning about investing in stock market so that you do not have take such huge risks. If you like Jollibee, you can think about getting the shares of Jollibee. Just make sure that you buy when the share price is low.

Ah I hope I can make it to pay day. But I think I'd end up borrowing a bit of money from some friends to make it to pay day.

@owstalaga Haha. I hope it does not come to that. I'd not find myself comfortable into such situations.

Few in the US have to scrimp to that effect. I hope you can make it.

The extra walking is quite healthy for you. Make sure you are eating healthy food. I scrimp on many things so I can do the big things I enjoy.
