Anyone know what a typewriter is these days? One of my 90 something Mom's first jobs was to type orders for Montgomery Ward. The job and the know how stuck. Mom loves to write letters. She can still ably write long hand with a pen but her preference is to use the typewriter. She just came out of my study to announce that she only got a white nothing when she typed. Hubby bravely went in and figured how to snap a cartridge back in. Mom immediately sat down and began pounding out a letter. I had better figure out where she orders the cartridges from sooner than later.

Wow, your mom is quite a woman! I bet she uses the touch-type system too. How does she handle typos? X or hyphen them out, use a typewriter eraser, or white out? The publisher of Uppercase magazine was in Portland recently promoting their new book The Typewriter so your mom is on the leading edge of a revival.

Mom is very studious about her letters. She goes back over them after she types and pens in corrections. Interesting about the revival. Others besides us like the hands on life.

As long as she doesn't try to press the 'return' carriage otherwise the computer could land on the floor, hehe

That noise would for sure get the pups to barking. Thanks for the laugh, @glenniah.
