Having Cataract Surgery Soon

I haven't had time to be active here much lately. I'm having cataract surgery on October 28 and the other eye done on November 11. Before then I have to schedule a lot of my City Daily Blog posts ahead for when I can't get to the computer. The other big project between now and then is getting out of jury duty 200 miles from home. They want me to be available on November 4. It's for U.S, District Court in downtown Los Angeles. That's a whole different discussion. Who else here has had he surgery? What should I expect after my surgery? How soon can I count on being back at the computer if all goes as it's supposed to? Any feedback would be welcome.

My Mother had cataract surgery, she had to keep the eye covered the first couple of days, but after four days she was back to normal life.

Thanks. That will help me determine how any days of my daily blog I have to schedule ahead.

My husband had the surgery a few years ago. I know mine are growing when I turn off the light and I see big round dark spaces hiding my night vision. So, was it easy and successful?

Much easier than I thought it would be. I have another issue with an inflamed bump on my cornea in my left eye I'm treating with drops, but it is not related to the surgery. It was evidently there before I had the surgery, but wasn't irritated. I think the dry weather is causing it.

Me, too. I'm still freaked out that I can't seem to get the form I need to fill out to be excused from federal jury duty 200 miles away in time to fill it out and send it back. I'm waiting for a paper copy of the online form I have to fill out and mail back, since I can't access the online form. That's more scary than the surgery since my possible appearance date falls right between my two surgeries.

Hopefully some will answer you! Cataract surgery here is done in a day, I am told. One eye at a time, of course. I hope all goes well and you'll soon have clear vision again, with no need for strong glasses/spectacles any more.

I am also having the quick come-home-the-same day surgery, but I still will need glasses for distance.
