do real men wear booties?

Its been on my mind that my feet need more covering than the fisherman sandals that kind of served their purpose this summer. I found a pair of "booties" in a women's catalog. Ankle boots. Double wide. My sandals are triple wide and look this side of nursing home fare. I look at these little boots and remember a pair of leather slippers that my Dad wore in his final days. These are kind of on that order. Pull on short boots with a give way area on their side. I wonder who decided that grown women would admit to wearing booties? Would men?
