False advertising

If you live in the U.S, you probably know exactly where the ad in the picture came from.
If you've ever bought a sub from that fine establishment, you know it would like nothing like this. It's mostly bread and very skimpy on everything else.
How do they get away with this?

They get away with it because people buy it. I've always said the subs there are basically a slice of meat and a tomato slice on hot dog bun. I wouldn't eat there is they gave it away.

@pcunix We only have two fast food joints in our little town and that is one of them, it's never very busy.

Well, if you look at the picture, it's obvious they've made up those subs pretty carefully so that all of the meat is placed right on the edge of the bread instead of across the entire thing like it would normally be. They've used the biggest tomato slices they could, too, so while it's not really representative of the "average" sandwich you'd get from them, the portioning does look to be correct.

A lot of these deals, are not deals anymore. I usually find myself going to the grocery store, buying the ingredients and going home and making it myself, cheaper and I get more than one meal out of it. Like you... I believe it is just a gig to draw customers in and it is deceptive.
