War What Is The Point?

Humanity has an obsession with waging war, just look back through history and you can see that, but what is the point?
War costs millions of lives and those who really gain from it are very low indeed. The First World War, the Second World War and now the so called war on terror, who are the winners? The general public or those in power?
Why in to world can't humanity live in peace, surely it's better than all the constant killing.

I keep wondering the same thing. How on earth does one live peacefully after causing so many deaths just to gain power

@mrtoffee And those who benefit from this wars must be very heartless human beings and one wonders if they have the slightest idea of what love is
